Our assistance for contractors with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) extends to the below:

The deadline for submission is 14 days after the end of the tax month. Even if no subcontractors have been paid during a month, contractors still have to make a nil return. All contractors are obliged to file monthly even if they are entitled to pay their PAYE quarterly.

Payroll, Pensions, PAYE

Under the constraints of RTI (Real-Time Information), employers are required to make regular payroll submissions to HMRC on or before such times as paying their employees. This information must detail payments and deductions made to each employee every time they are paid.

We recognise this can be a difficult and time- consuming procedure for business owners and we offer differing levels of service in regards to PAYE depending on the needs of each business, ranging from advice on how to operate PAYE properly, through offering ongoing advice on particular issues to carrying out payroll operations on behalf of your company.

Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) is a tax deduction system in Ireland which applies to the construction, forestry and meat processing industry, whereby a contractor:

  • Deducts tax at 35% from payments to sub-contractors for whom he or she does not hold relevant payments card (Form RCT47), and on which the principal contractor records payments made without deduction of RCT, and
  • Maintains a record of payments to all sub-contractors regardless of whether he or she holds relevant payments card for them
